Private equity sponsored entrepreneur specialized in alternative financing to small and middle market companies in underserved sectors. James is founding partner and CEO of Acrecent Financial, an entity serving businesses principally in Puerto Rico but also in Mexico and the US whose revenues exceed $3 million. He has raised over $250 million in equity and debt for Acrecent through various mechanisms and from multiple sources including its largest institutional investor, Darby Private Equity, a division of Franklin Templeton Investments.
Prior to forming Acrecent, he worked 9 years for GE Capital, where he became President of the Puerto Rico & Caribbean operations. At GE Capital he led the team in growing its portfolio to over $1 billion in assets and over 3000 customers and 7,000 accounts. He holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science from Purdue University. He is a tireless promoter of the upside that accrues from expanding an entrepreneurial mindset and from developing the private credit and equity sectors in under developed markets.
